Mom saves her kids from gunman in Wisconsin

Erin Stoffel, a Wisconsin mom and her family were walking on the a pedestrian bridge in Menasha when a unexpected gunman fired, killing her husband and her 11 year old daughter. She pushed off her other two children off the bridge while she got shot 3 times. "You can never underestimate the power of a mother to protect her children. To have three gunshot wounds and be able to get off that bridge and save two of her children is incredible to think about," says Dr. Ray Georgen from the hospital she attended to. Sergio Valencia Del Toro, the gunman, decided to open fire after having an argument with his fiance. Police came to the conclusion that he did not know the people he killed and after, he took his own life with the gun. Her son (one of the children she managed to save) and herself are now being called heroes because of the fact that the mom, in the middle of being shot and saving her other child, told her son to go get help and he succeeded. Besides the loss of her husband and third child, they are receiving praise.

Kansas to ban use of welfare on tattoos, cruises, psychics

Kansas tries to put a stop to the spending of people's welfare on not important things like tattoos, cruises...etc. "It aims to encourage those receiving government aid under the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program to spend "more responsibly," said Kansas state Sen. Michael O'Donnell. The bill limits the money withdraws to $25 a day to prevent the beneficiary from using these funds inappropriately. O'Donnell also says that having welfare is about having a great life and prosperity. He wants welfare and the funds people receive to be put to use the way they are intended to be used for. Not getting nails done, buying lingerie, cruises, theme parks, dog shows, piercings, spas, drugs, and/or alcohol. Major support from the Republican was given to this bill when it was passed last week. . Republicans in the state legislature didn't outline how serious the welfare fraud problem was in the state. These restrictions seem to be working because the number of welfare beneficiaries that in fact declined it went from 17,600 in 2011 to 8,900 in 2014, "I just think we are simply saying to people, 'If you are asking for assistance in this state, you're sort of less than other people and we're going to tell you how and where to spend your money,'"

Can We Handle Iran?

Throughout the years, the US have successfully been able to prevent various negative things from happening. But now with Iran trying to make their nuclear bomb, it has put the US and has made other countries involved and in danger. Stated in a video by Central Intelligence Agency Director John Brennan, "President Obama has made it very clear that we are going to prevent Iran from having that type of nuclear weapon that they may have been going on track to obtain. So if they decide to go down that route they know that they will do so at their own peril." Countries are working together to try and stop this and compromise with Iran. They are certain that Iran will soon come to find that this bomb planning will be more expensive than they had hoped and will consist of many consequences if they follow through with these nuclear actions.

More than 50% of Republicans under 30 were for gays and lesbians where as 77% of Democrats were for. This issue came up before the 2016 presidential election.
